Dr. E. Luis Prieto, M.D., FACP
SUPERVISING MEDICAL DOCTOR
Dr. Prieto is a Board Certified Internal Medicine physician focusing on treatment of a broad array of adult medical conditions, both in the office setting as well as the hospital setting, as well as preventative medicine, health maintenance, well visits, and physicals.
Dr. Prieto completed his Bachelor of Science Degree, cum laude, in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida in 1993. He then obtained his medical doctorate (MD) degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine (now known as the Miller School of Medicine) in 1997. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center/ Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas in 2000.
After completing residency, he moved to Melbourne, FL and established an internal medicine practice with OMNI Healthcare in Palm Bay from 2000 through 2009. He then moved on into solo private practice in Sebastian in 2009. He presently has a private practice in Sebastian, and also makes rounds at Sebastian River Medical Center and Palm Bay Community Hospital. He serves as the medical director for the Transitional Care Unit subacute rehab facility at Sebastian River Medical Center as well. In this venue, he has gained invaluable experience in the management of orthopedic injuries and orthopedic rehabilitation.
Dr. Prieto was inducted as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society at graduation and maintains an active membership. In addition, he was elected as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) in 2010. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Prieto has served in numerous leadership positions at Palm Bay Hospital, and presently serves as Chair of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee at Sebastian River Medical Center. He is also a member of their Board of Trustees.
Dr. Prieto’s family includes his wife of 20 years, as well as three children. His hobbies include boating, fishing, and golf.
